A Day in the Life of Joey and the Mama

I thought it would be fun to do a day in the life of Joey and me. This is the day we had yesterday.

Me not wanting to get up! I'm too cozy:)

Andrew's alarm goes off at 6:00 every weekday. Joey has been sleeping until about 6:15-6:30ish so I get up right away to get things going! I made a pot of coffee, started breakfast, and made Andrew's lunch! I started my day off with a nice big cup of coffee! Ahh love:)

Andrew usually likes to get Joey in the mornings so when he got down stairs I had his milk and waffle waiting for him!

He watches an episode of Bubble Guppies right when he wakes up and yesterday he crawled into my lap to cuddle!! This never happens, people! I took full advantage and stick a pic:)

Don't know why I am making such an awkward face!

After I enjoyed my coffee and Joey finished watching his show, he played for a bit while I got us ready for our morning run!
Joey wanted to wear Andrew's sneakers and I couldn't resist taking a pic, too cute right?? We headed out for our 3 mile loop!

Then we stopped at a nearby playground to play for a bit!

Joey had a blast and was ready for a morning nap when we got home!! While he napped I did some cleaning and packed us up for the beach. We stopped to get my little brothers on the way and some lunch! Pizza for the boys, a yummy Mister Bagel bagel for the mama!

It was a beautiful day!

Joey loves his uncles!! When I dropped them back home later he bawled his eyes out!!

After the beach we stopped for ice cream!!

The boys

I got blueberry cheesecake frozen yogurt, de-lish!

When we got home I put Joey right up for a nap and he slept for about 2 hours!  I was able to shower, clean the kitchen and get some laundry done!

Last night was sister night! I get really excited on sister night, because I LOVE when my sisters come over:)  Casey joined us as well.  We had pasta and Andrew's homemade sauce.
This was Joey while we ate dinner! Made himself comfy on the rocker. And yes, he is eating cinnamon toast for dinner.

On sister night, I always clean the kitchen while Andrew gets Joey ready for bed then Joey was in bed by 7:00!
Gotta make sure we brush our teeth! Mom's bestie is a dentist!

Annie painted my nails.  Loving the color! So pretty:)

We watched an episode of Friday Night Lights before they headed out!

I went to bed shortly after.  I was tuckered right out!

What a fabulous and busy day!

25 things you may not know about the Paladinos

I love the segment in US Weekly 25 thing you don't know about me.  I thought I'd do my own take on it:)

1. Joey is an awful eater!! He has been perfect in all other aspects, so we all have something we have to deal with I suppose.  His main staples are blueberry waffles, bananas, toast and yogurt.  I'm hoping as he gets older his palette will diversify!

2. Joey and I have started every Monday morning since mid May with a nice long run! Lucky for us Mondays have been mostly sunny!  It's a great way to start a new week.

3. I try to do something active every day. If I it's not a run, it's a long walk or as simple as lifting some weights in the living room while watching General Hospital.

4.. I watch General Hospital everyday.  Don't judge.

5. Andrew and I have watched the complete seasons of Lost, The Office, How I  Met Your Mother, and Friday Night Lights.  We currently watch Royal Pains every Wednesday!

6. Joey's new favorite world is No.  He shouts, "No, no, no! when we do something he doesn't want to do.

7. I eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich almost every day.

8. Joey still sleeps in a sleepsack.  I realize he is probably too old, but he moves around so much when he sleeps that he would never keep on a blanket.  And how can you sleep without something covering you?! Plus, I think it has prevented him from trying to climb out!
9. Andrew and I went to Hilton Head on our honeymoon.  It was fabulous. It was the longest vacation I ever went on.  The flight home was a nightmare.
10.  I have a major fear of flying! When I see a plane in the sky even if I am not on it, I get anxious.
11. I ran a half marathon the month before I got married.  I crossed the finished line and thought, "How do people keep doing that for another 13.1 miles?! Needless to say, I am so happy I did it, but I will never be doing it again:)
12. Joseph Costigan is named for both of our grandfathers. Joseph is Andrew's grandfather and Costigan is my grandfather's last name.
13. Andrew is 2 years and 21 days younger than this cougar;)
14. I LOVE bagels.  When I was pregnant I "craved" bagels.  But really it was just my excuse to eat them:)
15. Andrew's all time favorite dessert is Hannaford Cinnamon Buns with the white frosting. I know, he's weird, right?!
16. Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin! Love me anything pumpkin:)
17. This is my eighth summer working at Maxwell's.

18. I have already read 14 books this summer. I'm not sure Andrew has read 14 books in his life;)

19. My dream vacation is Nantucket! I would really love to go to Ireland, but Nantucket would require no plane so that sounds ideal to me;)

20. We eat pizza at least once a week.  Joe loves pizza, of course, anything in the carb family.

21. The only music Andrew and I agree on is Irish music.  Although I have gotten him to listen to some country!

22. We play cribbage most nights.

23. We are a formidable force at Taboo.

24. Joey is obsessed with remote controls and cell phones.  He is a baby of the 21st century!

25. I have a bundt cake baking obsession.  Both Andrew and Joey benefit from this obsession:)

On the Links!

I started golfing about seven years ago on a whim and loved it! I mean, really, what's not to love?? Exercising in cute clothes, snazzy shoes and a spiffy glove? I'm in!  I met Andrew and he loved golfing too!  He goes way more often then I do, but it's definitely something that I love to do with him.  I hadn't golfed in almost two years!  Last week, Andrew was on vacation so we went to New Hampshire for the night to visit his family.  While they watched Joey, we were able to get in 9 holes!
You can't really tell but this was a fabulous pink golf ball I bought to use on the course.  Proceeds benefited Breast Cancer Awareness so that was an added bonus!

spiffy glove/snazzy shoes

Some geese planted themselves on my tee box. Shoo!

Trying to look the part.

These darn geese were clearly obsessed with me!
Hottie with a golf club!;)

There's me! My form needs a little work:)

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was the end of Andrew's vacation.  We woke up Friday morning and it was a rainy, gloomy day! But this little face brightened up it up immediately!
Joey thought he was cute sticking his tongue out at his mother. Ok, he is totally cute sticking his tongue out at his mother:)

He already has a little sass! Sheesh

All smiles at breakfast! How stinkin' cute! He seriously warms my heart!

Since it was rainy, we decided to do some shopping! Andrew made out like a bandit with some new work threads!

And I found these darling little sweaters! There were on clearance for $5! Score!

The day turned out nice so we headed over to my Aunt and Uncle's for our Fun Friday BBQ!

I made this Chocolate Reese's Peanut Butter bundt cake for dessert!

Joey hung out with Aunt Mozzy all night! Break for this mama!

Saturday we woke up to Mr. No Manners with his feet on the table. And, yes, he is eating a piece of my cake for breakfast. Don't judge!

We did some grocery shopping and made a visit to Home Depot. Joey loved it! Like father like son!

This is what our Saturday afternoon looked like...

The mama

Dad doing handy stuff

And Joey pushing his wagon

Climbing in his wagon

Chillin in his wagon

Our yummy and healthy Saturday night dinner! And get this?! Joey ate ten bites of salmon! I repeat, Joey ate salmon!! If you know my picky eater at all, you know this is HUGE!

Off to Sunday morning mass!!

I worked at noon, so we got coffee and strolled around the Old Port before my shift. Forgot to take pics:(

We ended the weekend when Jake and Maria came over for dinner! Again, forgot pics! Boo I was Sunday slacking!!  I made a yummy lasagna and Andrew made baked sausage and peppers.  I will be blogging about my lasagna recipe later in the week!

Get Pinspired!

Oh my Lord, it's already August! Phewsh, where has the summer gone!? For me, it means that there is only one month until Fall! Woohoo! I love all things fall: the food, fashion, festivities and football! The 4 Fs! You know I love me an alliteration! I can already envision myself sipping a pumpkin latte, eating a pumpkin bagel and baking lots of pumpkin treats! Don't get me wrong, I will still be enjoying my last month of summer! And being the first day of August today we are getting Pin-spired!!

I joined Mix and Match Mama, Pinterest Told Me To and The Larson Lingo for the first time last month for their Get Pin-spired linky party. They take an inspiration from Pinterest and recreate it using items from their own closet! Fantastic, right?! They are all absolutely adorable, so be sure to check out Shay's, Sheaffer's and Mel's fabulous looks today too!! Click here for a reminder of my July Pin-spired post.  Here are my August's looks!

Look #1:

My scarf is a little lighter, but it still has the same light, summery effect!

I decided to try pairing my summer scarf with a tank and shorts and have to say I totally loved it! Love love loved it!

I look pretty freakin' stylish, right?!;)  I feel like I may need to stand in this pose at all times!

Look #2:

I chose this second look because I have a scarf very similar to the one from the inspiration that I absolutely adore and was excited to try it with this look!

What I love about doing this post is that I pull things from the closet that I normally wouldn't have worn otherwise!
I am already looking forward to some looks for next month! Fall scarves and boots are calling my name!

Head over to Paladino Picks for a vegetarian side dish recipe from my guest blogger and bestie, Gulia!

Have a fabulous day:)
